Centenary of Reformed Church in Transcarpathia

The Reformed Church in Transcarpathia, Ukraine, celebrated the hundredth anniversary of its foundation in a thanksgiving worship on October 29th. Bishops from Hungary served at the event, which took place in the church in Beregszász (Berehove), Ukraine.

CEC Panel on Peace Dialogue in Ukraine

On October 6, the Conference of European Churches (CEC), in cooperation with the Institute of Ecumenical Studies of the Ukrainian Catholic University and the International Forum 16th Ecumenical Social Week, organized a hybrid panel comprising Ukrainian church representatives to explore questions of peace and reconciliation.

Summer camp children support Ukraine with solar-powered lamps

When two congregations in Pennsylvania came together for their annual summer camp, they wanted to find a way to support the people of Ukraine. With the help of international partners, they purchased and sent 92 Luci Lights to congregations in Transcarpathia.

European Reformed Representatives on Ukraine and “True Worship”

On May 4-5, 2023, the Area Council of the World Communion of Reformed Churches in Europe (WCRC Europe) met in Thessaloniki, Greece, to discuss issues affecting member churches. Among those issues, Representatives of the European Reformed churches addressed responses to the humanitarian and political situation caused by the war in Ukraine.

Since the outbreak of the war in February 2022, the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (HRCA) has been helping people fleeing the war in Ukraine and those who have remained in Transcarpathia.

Transcarpathian Reformed Church inaugurates a newly elected bishop and synod

The installation of Sándor Zán Fábián was held in a packed church on Saturday, January 28. In addition to the bishops and lay presidents from the Reformed Church of the Carpathian Basin, the event was attended by leaders of state and civil organizations from Hungary and Transcarpathia.
