Due to the war in Ukraine, human lives are at risk, people lack basic supplies and have been forced to leave their homes. IDPs have reached the Western part of Ukraine and refugees are arriving to Hungary in growing numbers. The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid has been providing emergency response from the first day. The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid also helps in the BOK Sports Hall (11:03)
The green angels of the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid will also help in the BOK Sports Hall, sharing the work with other charity organizations. On Friday, from 8 am to 8 pm, volunteers and staff of the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid were out there to take care of the hundreds of refugees who temporarily found a safe shelter here.
Eleven thousand people arrived from Ukraine on Friday (13:21)
More than eleven thousand people fled to Hungary from Ukraine on Friday, the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid reported on its Facebook page, citing data from the National Police Headquarters. On 25 march, 6,037 people entered Hungary at the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, while 5,425 of those arrived from Romania said they had started from Ukraine.
The Hungarian Reformed Church Aid staff and volunteers are also helping refugees from Ukraine in Záhony, Tiszabecs and Beregsurány with donations, interpretation and information, while in Biharkeresztes they are receiving those arriving from Romania.
HRCA received two electric motorcycles (14:19)
Last week, the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid received electric motorcycle for the supply of refugees. One Motron Cubertino will serve the relief organization's work at the border, helping to move between supply points, while the other will help with transport within Budapest. The two eco-friendly electric scooters were donated by the Austrian KSR Group and its official partner in Hungary, ADVES.moto.
