Leaders of Syrian partner churches of RCH will visit Hungary next week. Rev. Harout Selimian, President of the Protestant Community in Syria and Rev. Joseph Kassab, General Secretary of the National Evangelical Synod in Syria and Lebanon will not only meet leaders of RCH and senior colleagues of its ministries, but also participate at public fora. RCH's Ecumenical Office and the St. Columba's Church of Scotland issued a joint invitation for the fellowship with our Syrian friends.
Please join us for a time of fellowship with Syrian Christian leaders, including conversation on the Situation and Life in Syria, as well as the challenges of Evangelical and Presbyterian minorities. Rev. Aaron Stevens will be moderating the discussion with Rev. Haroution Selimian, President of the Armenian Protestant Community in Syria, and Rev. Joseph Kassab, General Secretary of the National Evangelical Synod of Syria and Lebanon.
The discussion will be held at St. Columba’s Church of Scotland (Budapesti Református Skót Misszió, 1064 Budapest, Vörösmarty utca 51) in Budapest on Tuesday, 9 October 2018 at 5:00PM-6:30PM (17:00-18:30).
The newly published Hungarian booklet on the Situation and Life of the Syrian Protestant Communities will be available for a voluntary donation, which will go to supporting the Sunday School Program in Syria.
The booklet is the Hungarian version of the publication that was originally created by the 'Gustav Adolf Werk' (GAW), an Aid organisation responsible for the Diasporawork of the Protestant Church in Germany (EKD), under the title "Deliver me from all who pursue me". GAW has not only offered the rights, but has also financially supported the publication of the volume in Hungarian.
We welcome all who are interested. The event is free of charge.
The program will be in English.
